Project
This client had previously undertaken projects to reinvigorate the Information Architecture of their consumer facing e-comm site, but hadn’t managed to successfully find a solution.
We worked closely with the team that owned and managed the website content to identify pain points and understand the work that had been done before.
Challenge
Each iteration of the IA had to be signed off by category managers for each area of the business. Each category was run in different ways and with varying goals in mind.
I worked closely with the client throughout the project to ensure all necessary sign offs by category managers had been achieved prior to final delivery.
Solution
Project stages:
- Market and Competitor research
- Open Card Sort using Optimal Workshop
- Treejack using Optimal Workshop
- IA iterations – 5 versions (including Modernization overlap)
A comprehensive overview of the project from start to finish, showing all findings in detail, with recommendations for navigation and nomenclature, and next steps.
